What You Can Do
LORD YOU MAKE ME STRONG
A RECOVERED LIFE
MY CHOICE
LORD YOU MAKE ME STRONG
Lord you have made me oh so strong.
I’ve been praying all night long.
You have turned my life into a sweet song.
I do trust you with all my heart.
Before I met you my life was torn apart.
Bruised and beaten since my life got its start.
Feared it was just too much to overcome.
Knew my life had to be over and done.
He kept telling me I was stupid and dumb.
Life as a child I never had any fun.
Spent most of my childhood on the run.
Consumed and drowning in fear.
Increased dramatically when he drank his beer.
He was determined to see me dead.
But God sent me Angels instead.
He did what he had to to save my life.
And get me away from that volatile strife.
He was driving me crazy.
Thought I would soon be pushing up daisies
This happening to too many of our babies.
We will do our best to make a stand.
With the help of Gods hand.
We will raise awareness across this land.
We are grounded and determined to make a stand.
And do our best to pull as many kids as we can.
From eternal quick sand.
Their lives deserve to be better.
Always and Forever.
Father in the Name of Jesus help us change their path.
And cleanse a life of wrath.
Amen Amen and Amen
A RECOVERED LIFE
This poem is dedicated to all those who have to live a life filled with abuse. The only true escape is through the love of Jesus Christ. He has the power to change your life forever. Take it from a man who has been there. It’s the only way to ever be free.
Abuse can make you feel
like you’re being strangled
Makes life difficult
to try to untangle
Abuse smothers you to the point
that you feel love has disappeared
Overwhelmingly that’s truly
what you had feared
Abuse has side effects
like making you withdraw
Everybody scares you and
You’re told that’s just your flaw
The hurt, the pain, the tears
can hang on for a lot of years
You try so hard to overcome
you stumble around and told you’re dumb
You develop that hopeless feeling
that nobody at all cares
Most people just stop and
constantly just want to stare
If I could only get one person
to take time to help me out
Maybe this one person could
just figure out what I’m all about
Trying to always run from
where abuse has left me
Hoping and praying someone
will take time to hear my plea
Struggling to get through school
and wanting nothing more than to learn
confused and unable to concentrate
you cringe thinking about that cigarette burn
Trying to find one thing in
life you want to keep
Drowning every day because
You’re off in water way too deep
You try your best to look for
something positive but it keeps
coming up negative
Then you ask yourself
does no one have anything to give
You try to be normal and
have normal hopes and dreams
for my life to be different
I realize I must change the theme
So I hit my knees and
thank God at least I’m alive
and with Jesus at my side
without a doubt I know
I can thrive
MY CHOICE
All you ever wanted
Was to be happy
And see your dreams come true
There’s nothing left for you to do
Question is where do you
Go from here
And you’ve done all you can
And there’s no more tears
So I have made my choice
To run toward his voice
His name is Jesus
He died on the cross so God
Could love and please us
Amen – Amen – Amen
